Our History
AAIB was established in 1996 as the Regional Insurance Brokers Association (RIBA).
Founded by a cluster of insurance brokers from Ballarat Victoria, the association concerned itself with commercial aspects important to the regional broker – not just city brokers.
In 2006 the Regional Insurance Brokers Association altered its membership base to include insurance brokers throughout Australia in both metropolitan and regional areas.
The following year the association changed its name to the Australasian Association of Insurance Brokers (AAIB).
